Homeland
Visit

HaSha'a Theatre |  2023

Grandma Rosa has never met her grandson Stephen, who emigrated to America with his family when he was young. The excitement is palpable when, one day, Stephen returns for a visit to his homeland. However, Stephen carries a negative view of the country, influenced by his father over the years. With the assistance of the children from the neighborhood scout tribe, Grandma Rosa takes on a mission—to make Stephen fall in love with the country. Throughout the mission, questions, secrets, difficulties, and hope surface.
The show delves into the concept of Israeli identity among teenagers, addressing contemporary Israeli culture without embracing pathos or prejudices.
It presents a mosaic of the present reality for youth in Israel, where the current layer is intertwined with layers of the past and future.
